The first fact that you need to remember is that ‘your horse is an expensive investment’. To protect your expensive investment, it is good for you to have a horse insurance or pony insurance in place. It will be helpful to protect your horse from unexpected things that may happen.

It’s not cheap to treat your horse or recover your horse from injury, so having a good insurance in place will help you save most treatment bills for your horse. Here are some tips to fully protect your horse with mature horse insurance:

1. You have to know the type of your horse

The common types of horse are racing horse, breeding horse, labor horse, and general horse. You need different kinds of insurance policy for those horses. For example, racing horse will be prone to leg injury, and you will need to cover your horse with insurance that includes leg injury treatment if you have a racing horse. So, you have to know the type of your horse and decide which insurance is good for your horse.

2. Cheap horse insurance is not always the choice

Most of the cheap horse or pony insurance out there will only cover some basic things for your horse. Besides, you will get smaller deal as time goes by. If you cover your horse with small insurance, it may not be worth it. Remember that your horse is a big investment, so spending few more dollars to ensure its safety should be your first priority. Look for better deals on horse insurance, and make sure that your horse is fully protected.

3. Protect your investment in case your horse is dead

In case if your horse is dead because of illness or accident, you should get a good sum of payout from the insurance company to recover your loss. This should be your consideration when choosing a good insurance company for your horse. Some company don’t provide insurance in case if this happen. So, make sure to protect your loss of investment with this insurance policy. Be aware that some insurance company will have a maximum payout and will not fully recover your loss of horse investment.

4. Protect your horse accessories too

Since horse is not a cheap pet to own, you will find out that the accessories for your horse is also expensive. The tack and saddles can be expensive accessories to buy. So, make sure to cover those accessories in your insurance policy, in case if someone stole your horse accessories. This way, you don’t need to spend few hundred dollars just to replace those accessories, because they will be paid by your insurance company.

5. Horse insurance policy for legal costs

If you bring your horse into public place and suddenly attack some people there, you may be held liable for the damage that your horse caused. Those people will often send you to the court and you will incur big legal costs along the way. If you have insurance policy for legal costs, you will not be worried with those legal fees that you have to pay in case if your horse cause big problem.

It’s important to protect your horse with a good horse or pony insurance. Most of cheap horse insurance won’t provide you with full protection for your horse. Therefore, choosing the best protection for your horse is preferable.

It has been scientifically proven that having pets will significantly reduce the amount of stress that you encounter in day to day life. However, having pets alone does not mean the end of it since there are plenty of other activities that you should be doing in order to maintain the pets in top shape. It is not enough if only you get relief from the stress, but you should also be caring towards relieving the stress of your pet as well. When it comes to pets, the most popular has to be the dogs. One thing that will help alleviate the stress from dogs has to be dog toys.

There are some dogs, which are extremely mischievous, but you have to have in mind that they will also need to do something in order to alleviate their boredom. However, they will not be mindful of your priceless possessions, which might make you lose some of the highly valuable things in your home. The dog toys come to the rescue in such a scenario since they will be providing the perfect toys for your dog to be playing with during the leisure time. Even though dog toys offer the best possible alternative to keep your dogs occupied when you are unavailable, they could pose serious health hazards for the dog if not chosen properly.

This makes the task of choosing the dog toys a pretty serious matter indeed. The dog toys that you choose should be non-poisonous and should not be having any toxic material that will pose any health concern to the pet. The dog toys should also be not having any sharp materials in order to prevent the dog from getting it injured in the process of playing with the dog toys. The breed of your dog plays a vital role in the type of the dog toy that you choose. In addition to providing a safe play time for your dog, it will also be providing some great training materials for your dog. Dogs love playing with the dog toys and they can be used as retrieval training material for the dogs.

So, if you own a pet, especially a dog, then you will have to seriously consider the prospect of buying a proper dog toy. This will not only help you in bringing up the dog in top shape, but will also reduce the workload on you.

Why Do Puppies Chew On Everything?

If you don’t want it chewed on, you better secure it. This is the one of the warnings every new puppy owner should heed. Furniture, children’s toys, clothing, electric cords, and your brand new $200.00 pair of shoes are all fair game for that little four-legged chewing machine.

But why do puppies chew on everything? More times than not it is because they are curious and just plain want to entertain themselves. The problem is the puppy doesn’t distinguish between toys and what not to chew on. Therefore he has to be trained to know what things are out of bounds for him. To keep him from becoming interested in your things, give him some things of his own, like a wide variety of toys.

One thing to look out for is whether or not the puppy is over the age of 6 months. If this is the case and he continues to want to chew on anything in site then it is time for him to see a veterinarian to make sure he doesn’t have dental problems. If the puppy is teething, give him a wet towel or washcloth that has been frozen. This soothes the gums and feels good to him while his is chewing it. Giving a dog ice cubes is an alternative, however most like the chewing action that a washcloth gives them.

Is it natural for puppies to chew on things they shouldn’t? The easiest way to answer this question is to ask another question: When you give a baby something to hold, what is usually the first thing they want to do with it? Don’t they normally want to put it in their mouth? The same holds true for a puppy. If you give them something like a bone or toy to chew on, most times they will not even pay attention to your valuables. A nylon bone seems to work best for most dogs. However, if you start giving them other kinds of bones like beef bones or ham bones, it is harder to get them to chew on artificial bones. In addition to giving them something to chew on, the nylon bone helps to keep the teeth clean.

A word of caution here: Do Not Give A Dog Pork or Chicken Bones! These types of bones tend to splinter and get stuck in the mouth, esophagus, or stomach and can cause digestive problems. The rule of thumb is to give a dog a bone that is size appropriate and thus too large to swallow.

When you first bring your new puppy home, put your valuables under lock and key until the puppy has been given enough training. If the puppy gets ahold of something he is not supposed to, put him in his crate or another room with one of his chew toys. If he gets the point and starts to chew on his things, that is the time to give him praise and a treat. Remember, dogs are furry friends that want to please their owners. If you train him what not to chew on and praise him for chewing on his own possessions, he will learn what makes you happy.

One of the things that can cause parents to pause before considering bringing a puppy home is how it will get along with the children. This is an area of concern that causes many a parent extra anxiety. Something that has worked time and again is to bring the puppy into a quiet room with the child and letting the child give him a treat. This sends the message to the puppy that this is someone that he can trust. While this may work, use caution and don’t put the puppy in a situation that he is not ready for.
If the children have been prepared for the arrival of the newest member of the family it should go rather smoothly. Give them the opportunity to ask questions about anything concerning the puppy that may be on their minds. Giving your children instructions on how to play with and act around the puppy will lessen the possibility that the puppy will feel scared or try to bite them. Take an evening and read a book to your child on puppy care. Show them how to pick up the puppy without harming it. It is always good, especially if this is the first family puppy; to set some parameters as to how much the children can take part in handling the pup.

It seems that children are curious about different parts of the puppy, such as the ears and the tail. In fact, many children tend to want to pull the dog’s tail or pinch his ears. Let your children know that hitting or hurting the puppy in any way can cause it to become aggressive toward them.

One thing that should be avoided is giving a child the impression that the puppy is his or hers. Remember that dogs are pack animals and that they quickly sense who the leader of the pack is. If one person is made the pack leader, then the dog will naturally try to dominate the rest of the pack (family members). It is best that all in the family care for the needs of the puppy, while the parent(s) oversee the arrangement. Train your children to show love and affection toward the puppy thereby nurturing it into a lovable people pet.
Some other things that children can be taught to avoid is playing tug-of-war with the puppy. This may seem innocent and entertaining at first, however the puppy begins to think that it is alright to play rough even as it gets older. Children are great imitators and are fascinated with the sounds a dog makes, but it is best that children avoid barking or growling at the dog so as not to scare it.
Parents, take the necessary amount of time to teach your young ones how to treat and care for their new puppy. If proper training is given and followed, the whole family, including the newest four-legged member, can live happily together.

Dog behavior implies to the compilation of conduct by domestic canines. The domestic dog of various species is a subspecies of the gray wolf and does possess a multitude of its behavioral attributes. It goes without saying that the differences between the gray wolf and domestic dogs are quite distinctive, but modern opinions of dog conduct are very much influenced by studies on wild wolves.

An archetypal canine relies heavily and are very dependent on companionship, If this is taken away, dogs can become aggressive; they would bark incessantly, howl, start to dig everywhere and will most definitely, start tearing and chewing furniture. A house can resemble a holocaust once its done rampaging. This causes much distress for dog owners everywhere, who are constantly frustrated on what to do to rectify the dilemma.

Bad behavior in domestic dogs include: -

Being aggressive is indicated by its ears going forward and backwards, very close to the cranium.

A distressed dog will also narrow its eyes and stare at the owner in a challenging manner.

Its mouth and teeth is gnarls and at times, jaw snapping is evident.

When a dog displays bad behavior, its body becomes rigid, and hackles are up. This is the dog’s way of showing dominance.

Its tail will be aligned straight from the body, all fluffed at attention.

An unhappy canine will snarl, bark non-stop and growl menacingly.

A dog which urinates all over the house and compound.

Not following previously agreed –to commands. Instead it does the exact opposite.

Attacking its owner and other people.

Biting other dogs without due warning.

Dogs which are not fed properly or given low-quality food.

Restlessness from lack of companionship resulting in sullenness and deliberate disobedience.

Some dog breeds are more aggressive than others. These breeds simply act upon their antagonistic instincts and are tough to control, although not impossible. All dog breeds are proficient in acting accordingly, it all depends on their owners A good owner knows to treat his charge with compassion albeit firmness.

No matter the breed, whether the mellow Labrador or the super-hyper Jack Russell can become violent if their basic needs are not provided. A dog constantly caged will almost always display dangerous behavior.

We have differing opinions on what constitutes aggressive dog breeds. Typical aggressive dogs with bad behavior tendencies include Bull mastiffs, Dobermans, German Shepherds and Bulldogs. Truth of the matter is, these breeds show signs of aggression because of years of conditioning, and also because of their domineering appearances. Stereotyping in movies did not help their cause either. You would be surprised to know that smaller breeds such as Chihuahuas and Dachshunds can also be quite feisty. These ‘toy’ dogs, as they are affectionately labeled, can show belligerence if not handled properly.

There are many cases reported of dogs attacking small children and adults, sometimes ending tragically in death. Despite these reports, cases like these are quite far and in between. Most of the times, dogs which take human lives were infected with diseases such as rabies.

A newborn puppy needs more attention and care. And it also needs constant feeding and more sleep than an adult dog. When you bring a new born puppy to your home the first thing you want to do is get the dog insurance. A new born puppy is very weak and it needs all the nutrients to prevent health problems. You would need dog insurance just in case if your puppy falls ill or any other complications. Having insurance will cover the vet bill, you will be out of stress and you can concentrate more on your puppy. If you have the mother dog, then it is very good. Let the puppy have mother’s milk and you should constantly check if the puppy had milk or not. It is very important that your puppy to drink mother’s milk within first 12 hours of birth.

In case you don’t have the mother dog, then you should go to pet supplies to check what is available as a supplement. Get all the supplies which are required for taking car of puppy. It is important to keep the puppy warm in first few weeks, you can get blankets and puppy beds which will serve your purpose. In first few weeks, keep the puppy inside a dog basket with soft bed sheets, blanket and a dim night lamp inside which will keep the puppy warm. Recommended temperature is 97 degrees for new born puppies.

Consult a vet and ask them about recommended nutrient formulas for new born puppies. You should make sure that, you bottle feed the puppies for every 2 hours for at least first 48 to 72 hours. Just like your baby, pat them slowly on their back after feeding and allow them to burp. After few weeks you can feed them puppy cereals. As I mentioned earlier, a new born puppy is just like your baby, do everything that you would do for your baby. Consult a vet or local pet store to get more tips for taking care of the puppy. They are the experts, so they will know more things about it than you. You should take your puppy to vet clinics for regular check ups and to know the constant changes that are going to be seen in your puppy. When they start growing teeth, you should give them a chewing toy to make it feel better with your happy pets.

You should make sure that your puppy’s eyes are fine and there is no discharge from the eyes of puppy. Make sure the eyes are wide open and seem to alert visually. Make sure the puppy’s ears don’t have any blockage or any doubtful discharge from ears as well. If you see anything like that, you should immediately take the puppy to clinic and make sure it doesn’t have any infection. Finally, dog training is very important thing to remember, you should train your puppy and teach all the dog commands properly. So, a new born puppy take lot of your time in taking care of them, so before choosing a puppy as your pet, be ready for the commitment and all the problems that you might have to face.

Dogs have become an indispensable part of the society over ages. We must accept it and adjust ourselves to this irrevocable fact. They are mostly useful as guards, companions and friends. Dog is said to be “man’s best friend”. There are also many feral dogs and abandoned ones. This intimate relation of man with dog also includes many problems with the animal. It is due the slyness, agility, swiftness, strength, territoriality and voracity of dogs owing to their descent from the wolves, that dog attacks on humans result. This becomes a big menace when a dog attacks children. Children are smaller in size and cannot control a dog attacking them viciously with its sharp teeth and powerful jaws. Though its claws are not retractable, yet they cause painful lacerations. Children also cannot mostly sustain wounds produced due to dog bites, and could even die.

The reasons for dog attacks on children could include all the reasons for their attacks on adults plus lack of a child’s ability to judge the danger from the animal. Dogs are social animals and require lot of socialization and care. They should be brought up with love and care without any stress, but in reality many dogs are just caged or chained most of the time and the isolation turns them into stressed ferocious aggressive creatures. Most of the times the cause for the dog attack are highly human mistreatment of the animal. Few other causes include lack of understanding of a dog’s behavior or incapability to read the dog’s mood changes and body language. Dogs are territorial animals and try to dominate. They do not allow intrusion into their territory at any cost. They could be aggressive when they are prone to fear and attack in self-defense. Sick dogs or dogs in pain also are agitated and attack easily in self-defense. Children do not understand these and always approach the dog when they are not supposed to. Most the attacks occur on children between 5-9 years, though cases of attacks on even sleeping infants have been reported. Children of 2-5 years of age see the dog as a play thing and approach the dog at wrong time and carelessly touch, pull or injure any part of the dog. This would surely provoke the dog to attack the child and basing on its severity it could even prove fatal. Owing to small size of children some dogs view them as rivals and not superiors.

To prevent dog attacks on children parents should never leave the kid with the dog unsupervised even if it’s a family dog and has never had any history of aggression. Children should be educated about possible dangers from an interaction with a dog. They should be discouraged from approaching any dog in absence of adult supervision. Dogs must be taken good care of and not allowed to approach kids. Neutering or spraying dogs makes it less aggressive. Children should be warned not to approach injured or sick dog.

Finding the most effective form of dog training collar for your family? Or maybe considering all aspects that are in the best interest of keeping your pet safe and obedient, not only to your family but neighbors as well, considering when ownership was obtained, liability was also.

Many dog lovers suggest that electric dog training collars are 100% safe that the amount of shock, one’s pet would receive is similar to that of general forms of discipline. There are several shock collars available that advertise there is little risk involved when deciding if this particular form of collar is best fitting for your canine. Whether having a pint sized poodle or an infamous pit bull, using an electric shock collar has been proven and credited by veterinarians across the globe as well as online.

Online, many vendors are substantially overstocked with affordable dog training collars and offer free shipping, with restrictions when over sea charges may incur, guaranteeing timely delivery. Often, some sites gives the money back guarantee to the purchaser in case, if they do not get fully satisfied with their product, including malfunction of any device due to manufacturing issues that the consumer would be unaware of prior to purchase. Research is key when pursuing a training device most suitable not only to your dog, but as an owner by choosing the one that agrees with what level of obedience they should expect, depending on the classification of the canine.

If an electric shock collar is seemingly the appropriate tool to assist in training your pooch, here are a few examples many testimonials conquer:

Ensures alertness in your dog during jogging/running

Prevents escape as well as kidnapping and this is important to gain trust from your pet that you are protecting them from harmful situations

Helps assist in the proper training when looking for a family pet, indoors or outdoors, especially around small children

Aides in soothing a temperamental/aggressive canine to begin and succeed in training, with little chance of failure

Ability of training up to 3 dogs, which shows beneficial for dog trainers looking to make a career by the owner investing in the collar, without the hassle of training. This is especially helpful for business-oriented people that may enjoy the companionship, but cannot commit regularly to proper training.

When researching for the perfectly safe and highly talked about dog training collar with shock prompts that have been used in neighborhoods worldwide, especially in high society and a more business casual setting, where dogs are limited as to where they can relieve properly without risk of the owner getting fined, start asking friends and family and you may be surprised hearing they have successfully trained their what once seemed hopelessly trainable puppy or elder by using a collar that has definitely proven effective scientifically and in homes everywhere.
